The Cellular Interface
Unit for Substations (CIUS) contains the cellular radio,antenna
interface, power supply, ring generator, and RJ-11 jack, all
in a substation hardened package designed for rack or wall
mounting. The CIUS eliminates the installation delay and charges
usually associated with wire line installation, and also eliminates
the need of expensive GPR isolation equipment required by
many telephone companies. The CIUS also provides network backup
to automatically switch from PSTN or private network to cellular
network or vice versa if one or other is not available for
service.
